In 1902 ealenor left Allenswood, barely 18 years of age, to return home and not complete her fourth year. Since her grandmother insisted that instead she must be introduced to society as a debundance.

In the summer of 1921 while on vacation franklin fell ill with polio and was paralyzed.

By spring 1945, on April 12, a phone call brought forth the news that Franklin went to take a rest had died.
