    Edmund employed two assistants , they left because they thought the boys were impossible to teach .Two men from Callan joined Edmund who were willing to teach and join a religious congregation.This brought discipline and better behaviour to the boys of Waterford.

    The men made three vows poverty, celibacy and obedience.They gave themselves the name Society of the Presentation.They referred to each other as brother and Edmund took a new name Ignatius.

    Edmund transferred the Christian Brothers headquarters from Mount Sion to Dublin.This led to the opening of the Horth Richmond street School.
