    On January 19, 1809 the world of poetry would change forever. That is the day Edgar Allan Poe was born. He was brought into this world by Eliza, an actress. She was on the road when she went into labor and gave birth to him in a cheap rooming house in Boston Massachusettes.

    An actress dies...
    The mother of one of the most famous poets did not even get to see him grown up. Edgar's mom was an actress that traveled a lot. Going from town to town all the time, made it easy her to catch what was going around. What killed Eliza Arnold Hopkins Poe on December 2, 1809 was a bad case of tuberculousis. That fateful winter is when having a mother ended for Edgar and he was now an orphan.

    How would you like it if as soon as you got into a fight with your parents you got sent away>? Young Edgar was in a falling out with his foster dad, and he put him in a boarding school. It wasn't just down the road, it was all the way in London, England. In April of 1816, Edgar started actual school.

    Moving is very hard, so moving home must have been a relief for eleven year old Edgar. On an unknown date in the fall of 1820 Edgar finally got to leave the boarding school his foster father placed him in. He was all the way in London England, hundreds of miles away from home for four years, He moved back to New York, and was back with his foster family.

    Edgar Allan Poe had a hard life. When he was young his mom died and he had to be moved into a foster family. A person with this much trouble would obviously have to put their feelings into some form of art. Edgar liked to write. His first book was written on an unknown date sometime in the winter of 1827, it was called Tamerlane and other poems.

    Edgar enjoyed writing so much, he just had to create more. He wrote a poetic book called, Al Aaraaf Tamerland and Minor Poems. It was written on an unkown date sometime in the frosty winter of 1829. It would turn out to be a masterpiece.

    Military School is probably not the most fun thing ever, so it is not a suprise that Edgar got kicked out. Edgar was attending West Point Military Acedemy at the age of 21, and got kicked out. Although the exact date is unknown, Edgar got kicked out of acedemy sometime in the fall of 1830.

    Searching for a job is not fun, but once you find one its a great expeirence. At some point in 1835, young Edgar got his first real job. He began working at the Southern Literary Messanger in Richmond. Its not known how long he worked there, but we know that he enjoyed it.

    Once you do something amazing you go down in history. Edgar Allan Poe became a literary sensation in 1836. Before then he wrote books and poems but none of them became that famous, But once people started to read them, they realized how amazing he was.

    At some point in the fall of 1837 Edgar married a young women named Virginia Clem. She was only 13, and now that would be illegal. They weren't accepted by her mother to get married considering she was 13 and she was his cousin. They moved to New York, and visited her every once in a while.

    At an unkown date in 1841, Edgar wrote another book. This book would be one of his best. He called it "Murders in Rue Morgue." It is still read to this day.

    Making money can be hard. Sometimes you even have to move away to get a job. Edgar moved with his 13 year old wife back to New York. While he lived there he owned his own journal. He was proud of it.

    On January 30, 1847 Edgar's life changed forever. The love of his life that he married when she was only 13, died. She died of TB along with his mother and many others at that time. She died in New York, where they moved a few years before. After she died, he went insane. Well not entirely, he just started to right sad and depressing books.

    After his wife died, Edgar Allan Poe, needed to go see his aunt, Virginia's mother. He left for Philly on September 27, 1849, a few years after her death. He was in major pain, missing her and writing depressing stories, so he thought he needed a trip.

    Gone.
    He left for Philly a month before, but never actually made it. He didn't feel right around October 3, 1849. He was admitted into Washington College Hospital in the following days. His brilliant mind was put to rest on October 7, 1849.
