Victor Chang was born on the 21st of november 1936 in Shanghai, China. to father Aubrey Chang and mother May Lee. He was the eldest child in the family. He had a younger sister named frances and youner brother named anthony.

When Victor was only 2 him and his family moved to Hong Kong because Shanghai was invaded by the Japanese.

Victor Chang was only 12 when his mother, may lee, tragically died of breast cancer at the age of 33.

Victor Chang went to school at Kowloon Tong Primary School, Hong Kong. He went to this school for all of his primary education. Then he attended St Paul's College for the first years of his secondary education.

Dr Chang met Dr Shanahan a heart surgeon at st vincent's. Dr Shanahan sent Dr Chang to England to train as a heart surgeon.

Victor was married to an english lady named Ann Simons when he was in Londan. They had 2 sons and 1 daughter.

Victor went to china for the 1st time in 30 years. He took regualar visits to china where he helped with the patients over there mostly for free. He also lectured frequently in china, singapore, malaysia and hong kong.

Dr Chang did research on the artificial heart. and found a type of drug that would make the heart transplant safer.

Victor was appointed as the honorary director of heart, lung and blood vessel research-institute, Quandong Provincial People Hospital, China.
