    Career

    John was a member at Stanford University Department of Philosophy from 1982-1996. Since then at this current time he is a Professor of Philosophy of Science at the University of Exeter. Other places he has taught are Birkbeck College, University of London, University of Amsterdam and the University of Cambridge. He is a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science, and a former president of the British Society for the Philosophy of Science.

    John is currently working towards the focus on the importance of understanding life as essentially dynamic, motivating the articulation of a fully processual ontology. He will be developing a theme with major biologists who have largely neglected like JB Haldane, Conrad Waddington and Ludwig von Bertalanffy.
