    ~ Born December 25th 1642
~ He was born in England
~ He Built The First Telescope
~ He Contributed to all kinds of scientific theories.
  • John Dalton

    John Dalton
~ Born September 6th 1766~ Born in England~ He was colour blind~ He studied Gases and thermal pressure.~ He realised that everything, a solid, a liquid, or a gas was made up of tiny particles.
  • Michael Faraday

    Michael Faraday
~ Born September 22nd 1791~ Born in South London~ Learnt about atoms from Reading books~ Helped to design the electric motor~ He split molecules with electricity
  • Julius Plucker

    Julius Plucker
~ Born June 16th 1801~ Born in Elberfeld, Germany~ He was a mathematician, physicist and chemist.~ He was the first to discover electron rays that were produced in a vacuum.
  • George Stoney

    George Stoney
~ Born February 15th 1826~ Born in Oakley park, Ireland~ He was a physicist who introduced the term Electron for the unit of electricity~ He worked on molecule physics and kinetic theory~ He estimated the number of molecules in a volume of gas
  • Dmitri Mendeleeff

    Dmitri Mendeleeff
~ Born February 8th 1834~ Born in Tobolsk, Siberia~ He designed and grouped the periodic table~ He greatly contributed to atomic discovery through his work with the periodic table~ He also made a set of laws, called “The Laws Of Period”.
  • J.J. Thompson

    J.J. Thompson
~ Born December 18th 1856~ Born in Cheetham hill, England~ He discovered that the atom itself was made up of many tiny particles~ Others doubted his scientific claims, but as years passed, they too, began to believe that the atom was devisable.
  • Ernest Rutherford

    Ernest Rutherford
~ Born August 30th 1871~ Born in Nelson, New Zealand~ Rutherford discovered that each atom had a nucleus~ He also discovered that the proton in each atom is positively charged.
  • Francis William Aston

    Francis William Aston
~ Born September 1st 1877~ Born in Harborne, Birmingham, England~ Aston Studied Radioactivity and X-rays, which helped him later to develop the “Aston mass Spectrograph” ~ Astons Spectrograph Helped him to analyse beams of light and break them down into their individual colours.
  • Frederick Soddy

    Frederick Soddy
~ Born September 2nd 1877~ Born in Sussex, England~ He worked with Rutherford and the theory behind nucleus in atoms.~ He won the Nobel peace prize for chemistry in 1921~ He learnt that element change when they are exposed to radioactivity.
  • Niels Bohr

    Niels Bohr
~ Born October 7th, 1885~ Born in Copenhagen, Denmark~ He made countless discoveries regarding atomic theory and quantum physics~ He studied with Rutherford, and proved that the atom had a positively charged nucleus, with a group of negatively charged electrons circling it.
  • Herny Mosely

    Herny Mosely
~ Born November 23rd 1887~ Born in Weymouth, Dorset, on the south coast of England~ He worked on a theory about the charge of a nucleus.~ He figured out that the atomic number of an element was equal to the number of protons in the nucleus~ He worked on the Rutherford project and helped uncover many secrets about the atom
  • James Chadwick

    James Chadwick
~ Born October 20th 1891~ Born in England~ He Studied with Ernest Rutherford at Cambridge university.~ Chadwick discovered that it was possible to increase an atoms mass without an electrical charge
  • Louis De Broglie

    Louis De Broglie
~ Born August 15th, 1892~ Born in France~ He Grew up studying with his brother and learnt things about atoms from his brothers X-Ray studies~ Louis thought that electrons possessed a dual nature, with properties representative of both particle waves
  • Enrico Fermi

    Enrico Fermi
~ Born September 29th 1901~ Born in Rome, Italy~ Fermi discovered a process call fission, where an atomic chain reaction could be controlled.~ Fermi achieved success in creating a chain reaction necessary for a nuclear bomb to be built.~ The US Government swore Fermi to secrecy. Only he knew how to release energy from an atoms nucleus under controlled circumstances.
