A law that required all paper bought by colonist to be taxed in the form of a stamp. This had to be payed in british currency, and included legal documents, magazines, playing cards, newspapers, and many more. -

The Townshend acts were a series of laws that were passed by the British Parliament in 1767. One of these was taxation on tea. These taxed goods were imported to the American colonies. American colonists, who had no say in Parliament, saw this as an abuse of power, and unfair. -

The Boston massacre was on March 5, 1770, where British soldiers shot and killed several people and were harassed by a mob in Boston. -
