Erikson's Adoption
Erikson had a hard time with his identity growing up due to his step father never accepting him like he did his own daughters. Erikson was officially adopted by his step father in 1939. At this time, Erikson was confused by his role rather than knowing his identity at this point in his life. (Stage 5:Identity vs. Role Confusion) -
Death
Erikson passes away in Massacutches after working with Harvard to the end of his days. He chose Ego Integrity rather than Despair. (Stage 8: Ego Integrity vs. Despair)
