  • Treaty of Paris 1763

    The Treaty of Paris in 1763 brought an end to the French and Idian war, also known as the seven years war. The treaty was signed by representives from Great Britain, Spain and Portugal. It gave Britain all the land east of the Mississippi, excluding New Orleans.

    Pontiac's Rebellion was a war where many Native American tribes rose up against the British after they won the Seven years war.

    In 1763 King George III, of Great Britain, isseud the proclamation which forbade colonists to settle past the Appalachian Mountains, leaving that land for the Native Americans

    The sugar act was issued in 1764 and it put a tax on all impoted sugar and molasses sent to North America. This made the colonists angry
  • Quartering act

    The Quartering act was an act that was passed by the British parliament that required colonists to provide British soldiers with shelter, food, drink, transportation, and whatever else they needed. This caused the colonists to become even more furious
  • Declaratory act

    An act passed by the British Parliament that revoked the stamp act and lessened the sugar act for the colonists.

    A series of acts passed by the Parliament of Great Britain that put a tax on tea, paper, lead, and paint, that was imported into the American colonies. This again angered the colonists
  • Tea act

    Put a tax on all tea imported into America and although it made tea less expensive, it made the colonists furious and it led to the Boston tea party

    The Sons of Liberty, dressed as Native American, stormed a British import ship and threw thousands of pounds of tea over board into Boston Harbor

    A series of punitive laws passed by the British Parliament that shut down Boston Harbor and took away Massachusetts right to have a separate governement from England after the Boston Tea party
