  • War Saw Pact

    Soviet and Eastern Europe created an alliance put troops and weapons in Eastern Europe. Eastern Europe wanted to create defense alliance in response to Nato east control. Caused nationalism and hostility against the Soviet Union.

  • Hungarian Revolution

    Soviet leader Nikita.K attacked the period of Joseph Stalin’s rule and encouraged the free of debate. Imre Nagy became premier, agreeing to establish a multiparty system. Hungarian declared neutrality and appealed to the United Nations for support (Hungarian Revolution).

  • Suez Crisis

    Egypt’s growing ties with the Soviet Union, Nasser reacted to the American and British decision by declaring martial law in the canal zone. They predicted that the tolls collected from ships passing through the canal. Britain and France secretly prepared military action to regain control of the canal (Suez Crisis).
  • Missile Crisis

    A naval blockade around Cuba and was clear that the U.S. was prepared to use military force if necessary. Many people feared the world was on brink of nuclear war. The U.S. and the Soviet Union agreed not have a nuclear war (Missile Crisis).
  • Six-Day War

    Israel attacks fledgling Palestinian Guerrilla groups based in Syria,lebanon,and Jordan had increased leading to costly reprisals. In the Jordanian West Bank left 18 dead and 54 wounded,and during an air battle with Syria in April 1967,the Israeli Air Force shot down six Syrian MiG fighter Jets. In May indicated that Israel was planning a campaign against Syria,and although inaccurate,the information further heightened tensions between Israel and its Arab neighbours (Six-Day War)
