    Truman Doctrine was when U.S. gave money to Greece and Turkey to rebuilt after the war. U.S. did that so that Turkey and Greece would be strong enough to fight the Soviets in case they started spreading communism. This made U.S.-Soviet Union's relationship worse since it showed a lack of trust.

    This was made so that communism wouldn't spread. This had a negative effect on the relationship since U.S.S.R. was strongly communistic.

    This organization was created after WW2 so that instead of fighting the countries would talk about their issues. It had a positive impact on many countries.

    Soviets cut off the road to Western Berlin so that U.S. couldn't supply them, so U.S. supplied the people of western side by dropping the supplies off the planes.

    It was a country that was made on territory of Palestine for the Jewish people. Soviet Union did not like it.

    It was a plan to give money/aid to European countries to rebuild what they lost during WW2. Soviets wanted European countries to struggle since it was better for them that way so it effected their relationship in a negative way.

    North Atlantic Treaty Organisation is an alliance between European (democratic) countries, and U.S. against the Soviet Union in case the decide to invade other counries.

    U.S. supported South Vietnam and Soviet Union supported North Vietnam. U.S. wanted Vietnam to become a democratic country and Soviet Union wanted it to become Communistic. This caused the two countries to become more separated because they had a war through Vietnam.

    East Berlin was controlled by Soviets (communism) and western Berlin was controlled by U.S. and other democratic countries. Since U.S. on the west side of Berlin did not want people from East side to come over and take their supplies, they built a wall so that people on the east side would stay on their communistic side of the city. This ruined U.S.S.R. and U.S.'s relationship even more since it showed that their views on things are different.

    Cuba wanted missile weapons, and Soviet Union was ready to send them some by a ship. U.S. did not want Cuba to get them so they threatened to take the ship down if it got too close. Soviet Union decided not to take a risk

    Soviet leaders promised not to have any secret government organizations, and make the life better.This didn not have much effect on the U.S./Soviet Union relationship.

    Soviet Union's leaders stated that now there will no longer be any secrets, and that communism in Soviet Union will now be different and better. Other countries asked Soviet leader to tear down the walls in Berlin to symbolize the end of the divide in Germany. That's exactly what Soviet Union did. This had a positive impact on U.S.-Soviet Union relationship.

    Soviet Union, which consisted of 15 countries, fell apart, making 15 independent countries once again. Misunderstandings that Soviet Russia and U.S. had were still present, however Russia lost a lot of territory since 14 countries were now not under its control, which was a positive thing for U.S. and other democratic countries.
