    The Bay of Pigs Invasion was an event where the U.S. was the aggressor against the Soviet Union backed Cuba. The was a miserable failure for the U.S. and and embarrassing move on President Kennedy.

    Cuban Missile Crisis
    The Soviet Union set up nuclear weapons in Cuba because they felt threatened by America's attempts to assassinate Castro. In response, the U.S. quarentined Cuba and searched all cargo for any trace of nuclear substances going in to the island. It ended with the weapons being removed from Cuba and in return, the U.S. made a deal not to invade China.

    Not long after the Soviet Union settled in Afghanistan, there was an uprising that resulted in a civil war. Kennedy used U.S. funds and resources to fuel this war against the Soviet Union.
