    Truman Doctraine
    This Doctrine was issued by President Harry S. Truman in 1947. The Truman Doctrine was another form that the United States used to prevent communism from spreading even more. There were many place i which this doctrine was used, but it first started in Turkey when the U.S was providing military aid against communist in 1947. It was also used later in Korean War and the Vietnam War as well.

    Creation of NATO ans Warsaw Pact
    The North Atlantic Treaty Organization or commonly known as NATO is a military organization that was created to stop communist expansion in Europe. This was created by the United States and 11 other Western nations but the Soviet Union and their Eastern European nations found and created the Warsaw Pact in 1955. NATO and the Warsaw Pact made nearly all of the European nations take either side since the WWII and continue through the Cold War.

    Julius and Ethel the Rosenberg couple were arrested and executed on July 1950 soon after the Korean War had begun. The couple where arrested and executed because they had been accused of and found guilty of being spies for sending information from the nuclear weapons secrets to the Soviet Union from the United States.

    Although this pact did not exist after the Cold War this pact was mainly a was the the Soviet Union responded to the U.S creation of NATO. The Warsaw Pact took mainly all the communist nations in Eastern Europe. Both of these creations were created to defend its nations against any enemy attack.

    Soviet Union Launches Sputnik
    Sputnik I was a successful satellite launch from the Soviet Union which amazed many Americans. With this launch in October of 1957 the Americans were scared that they were many levels ahead of the them in the arms race of technology. This launch of the Soviet Union made Dwight D. Eisenhower speed up the U.S space program to launch their satellite Explorer I into space which then set off the what was know as the “space race.”

    The Bay of Pigs was an invasion that the CIA-financed and -trained group from the Cuban exiles were doing to try to invade southern Cuba.This unsuccessful action was also to try to over throw Fidel Castro. Fidel Castro was the communist leader of Cuba wich the U.S didn't like eversince his attacks on the U.S companies and that concerened the U.S. The plan failed when there wer 1200 exiles armed with American weapos but, rapidly failed after meeting with rapid counterattacks from Castro's

During this time the Russians were to considered the best of the best because there was no team that was at their level and one could beat them. Everyone thought that the American college kids that were about to play against them on February 22 1980 were just losing time because they were
