Japan still did not want to surrender even after being told they would be hit with more atomic bombs. Three days after the first bomb was dropped the USA dropped another on Nagasaki. That following evening Japan surrendered.

The Soviets who were occupying east Germany demanded that the Allies pull out their forces from Germany and when we didnt the Soviets blockaded Berlin. Thet blocked roads, railroads, and canals so there was no way for the Citizens of Berlin to get supplies. So the allies started airdropping 13000 pounds of supplies per day.
