    In response to the Berlin Blockade, the United States executed the Berlin Airlift. This procedure was the act of American C-54s dropping supplies to citizens in the NATO controlled side of Berlin, and even candy to children. The Soviet Union reacted by opening the entrances to Berlin again.

    The Berlin Wall, fortified concrete and steel wire barrier, was formed between the East and West sides of Germany's capitol, Berlin.It was built by the government of East Germany to keep the Westerners from illegally defecting. It stood from 1961 to 1989.

    President Lyndon Johnson discloses that two U.S. ships patrolling international waters in the Golf of Tonkin off the shores of Vietnam, has been attacked by the North Vietnamese. The United States Air Force is dispatched against the attackers and Congress is asked to pass a resolution in support of the President's actions
  • Operation Rolling Thunder

    Gradual and sustained aerial bombing of the North Vietnamese strongholds and towns by the U.S. 2nd Air Division, US Navy, and Republic of Vietnam Air Force. More explosives were dropped than any other bombing raid in the history of warfare, including the nuclear explosives detonated in Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
  • Tet Offensive

    During the Vietnamese New Year known as Tet, a temporary cease fire was agreed upon by the United States Armed Forces and the North Vietnamese. The North Vietnamese would later attack multiple places simultaneously, breaking the agreement.
