- The United States agreed to Soviet leader Nikita offer to remove the cuban missles in exchange for U.S promising not to invade Cuba.

- He was assassinated while he was driving down Plaza in Dallas, Texas. -Was shot from a 6 strory building.
- Oswald was bizzare and crazy. He was interested in communism and Castro. He matched the exact guy who killed Kennedy.

Suez Crisis
- Israeli armed forces pushed into Egypt toward the Suez Canal after Egytpian president Gamal Abdel nasser nationalized the Canal.
- 2 years earlier, the military had began pressuring the British to end their military presence which granted in the 1936 Anglo-Egyptian treaty in canal zone.

Pueblo Incident
- North korean naval and air forces attacked interrational waters.
- 82 crewmembers were captured and held prisoner for 11 months. Prisoners were taken to a second compound in the country side and were beaten.

- Iranian students stormed in the U.S embassy in Tehran, taking more then 60 hostages,
- They did this because of the Shah's Medicare.
- They set the hostages free on Janurary 21, 1981, which was 444 days after the event happened.
- They argued over oil.

- The soviet war lasted 9 years.

- Soviets had started to shoot the plane down, killing 269 passengers.
- There was soviets waiting for the flight to come near them.

- Reagan ordered his army to invade Grenada and make surethey had good saftey. Bishop got killed and took out of control.

- Soviets backed out of the Olympics in 1984 in Los Angeles; they claimed they would not be ready for attacks or protest. After the Soviets had backed out, basically eveyone else was backing out too.

Chernobyl Disaster
Was the worst nuclear incident; Killed 32 people and many were burned and injured; radiation escaped in the atmoshere and 5,000 people ended up with some type of illness or cancer. -
Iran Contra Affair
- The captain who was flying the plane had been captured.
- When he was captured he admitted that he was shipping military supplies.

Dissolving the Soviet Union
- People who were involved with the Soviet Union were breaking with the Soviet Union, saying they would no longer be part of the soviets. Georgia is the only state that had remained with the Soviets.
