The Marshal Plan was an American program created to aid Europe because they wanted to help them rebuild and recreate their government so there wouldn't be another situation like World War 2.

NATO, which stands for the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, and it's an intergovernmental military alliance. It's basically a mutural defense that many countries are apart of, it's main goal is to create a patnership of peace.

1,400 Cuban exiles also known as the Brigade 2506, which was a counter-revolutionary military trained and supported by the United States, attacked the Democratic Revolutionary Front and tried to over throw them. They failed, and were defeated by Cuban armed forces after three days.

The Berlin wall was a wall built by the German Democratic Republic because they wanted to cut off West Berlin from East Germany.

This was a 13 day dispute between Cuba and the Soviet Union. What happened was the Soviet Union wanted to place nuclear missles in Cuba, because they wanted to prevent any future invasions from Cuba.

During this olympic game the cold war was going on so there was even more tension then usual, and during the game the United States was winning, until the very end when the refs made a very controversal call which ending up resulting in the Soviets winning.

After many deaths, and failed attempts of citizens trying to get across the wall, and many political movements the East German governement finally announced that all GDR citizens could visit West Germany and West Berlin. Throughout the weeks the governement finally started to take the wall down, but it was completely destroyed in 1990.
