    26 January 1880 – 5 April 1964 He commanded Allied forces in the Pacific during World War 2. He commanded American forces into Korea and driving them back up. President Harry S Truman rejected MacArthur request to bomb North Korea and China with nuclear weapons.

    (May 8, 1884 – December 26, 1972) This man was is the Vice president Under Franklin D. Roosevelt and also became president after Roosevelt died. He helped form the United Nations, Nato, the World Bank, and the International Monetary Fund. Truman didn’t like Communism so he adopted the idea of containment.

He toured the United States in 1959 and visited President Eisenhower personally. After the Cuban missile crisis he was removed from power for backing down during that crisis.

He became president in the 1960’s, defeating Republican Rochard M. Nixon. He was involved in the Bay of Pigs invasion and the Cuban missile crisis. He spent about a thousand days in office before he got assassinated.

    15 January 1918 – 28 September 1970 He was the leading president of Egypt who seized the British controlled Suez Canal in 1956. Eisenhower cut off all oil exports because of Gamal involvement in the Suez crisis.

Marshall also felt the need to help Europe states recover, which the united states help fund for. Countries that participated saw their products go up to 15%-25%. Months after president Truman became president he dropped atomic bombs on Japanese cities.

    The air lift lasted for more than a year and carried about 2 million of cargo. This is pretty much a part of what happened in the Berlin blockade. The United states supplied Berlin by air and succeeded.

    February 25, 1888 – May 24, 1959) s- John was also under Eisenhower and is the brother of Allen Dulles. He had a policy that stated the use of nuclear weapons against communist countries such as Vietnam. He also helped with Eisenhower’s New Look foreign policy.

    This incident started on May 1st, 1960 while Dwight Eisenhower was still in power. A United States U-2 spy plane was shot down the Soviet Union. Surviving pilot, Francis Gary Powers was captured and endured hard labor. The United States are greatly embarrassed by this event.

The leader of this organization is Rostam Ghasemi. In 1980 the prices for oil to go up and people didn’t want oil as much causing the oil price to go back down. In 2000s however the rose really high in the mid- 2008.

It was said that President Nixon had a tape-recording system in his offices and recorded a lot of conversations. President Nixon eventually had to resign on August 9, 1974.

    This was a multi-sport event in West Germany, from august 26 to september 10th, 1972. A German police officer plus five black militants were killed. The German official games motto was “the Happy Games.” There were about 7,170 athletes participating in this event.

A Guy named Hafez al-Assad didn’t want to come in peace with Israel, and would only meet with carter in Geneva.

    The city residence exposed secrets within China’s political leadership which lead to a breakdown and is now called Tiananmen square massacre. Thousands of unarmed civilians ended up dying trying to block the advancement of the Tiananmen Square. A protest started after the death of General Secretary, Hu Yaobang.
