    Slave in Missouri sued the state for his freedom but lost because they did not "reconize" him as a citizen so he ended up being a slave again.

    Resterants, hotels, hospitals, and other public places had to serve African-Americans equally, but in a seperate place than the whites.
  • Brown vs. Board of Education

    A case taken to the Supreme Court that was about the segregation of the school systems.
  • Montgomery bus boycott

    A lower court ruling declaring segregation on buses illegal.
  • Loving vs. Virginia

    Marriage between blacks and whites
  • United States vs. Paradise

    Alabama Department of Public Safety held a promotion of one-for-one (if a white person is hired thatn a qualifies African-American would be hired). It was necessary to eliminate Alabama's discrimination.
  • Boy Scouts of America vs. Dale

    James Dale's Boy Scout membership was revoked when the BSOA found out he was a homosexual. Taking the case to New Jersey Court, they said that his homosexuality did not violate the BSOA first Amendment and that New Jersey's Law about prohibiting discrimination did not count.
