    In the 14th Amendment it addresses citizenship rights and equal protection of the laws and was proposed in response to issue related to former slaves following the American Civil War.

    In the 15th Amendment it says that " The right of citizens of the United States to vote shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any State on account of race, color, or previous condition of servitude."
