Charles Brown, a cook employed on the ranch of James Curran, committed suicide Tuesday by taking strychnine. The deceased was about 55 years. He was an old resident of the county. No reason can be found for his act, excepting that Brown was at times a hard drinker and frequently indulged in sprees. His body is at the morgue.
