From time to time, many workers joind the Union and is ready to help Cesar. The public did not approve of violence, Cesar planned to use negotiations, strikes, and boycotts to fight the growers.

    Cesar decided to start a boycott of California grapes. The public became upset by the violent tactics of the growers. Later on, more and more people began to support the striking laborers. Cesar told the people to stop buying California grapes as a way of supporting for the workers.
