The act was passed to pay for the French and Indian War. King George lll signed the proclamation himself. Running the colonies was getting extremely difficult because of the rising costs for the war and the colonies altogether so they passed the act.

The taxation began with the Stamp Act of 1764. It was a time when every single material which was printed was taxed. These materials were all taxed. Newspapers, licenses, cards and dice, and more. In return the colonists came up with: NO TAXATION WITHOUT REPRESENTATION!!

When barracks became unavailable Parliament passed the Quartering Act. This Act was made so when stations were unavailable the soldiers could be housed in citizen houses. The act proved to be extremely useful for the battles that needed to be fought.

The Proclamation of 1763 was a proclamation that blocked any settlements to be made to the west of the Appalachian Mountains. King George lll himself signed the proclamation. It moved any settlements to the west of the Appalachian mountains to move back to the east.
