Katniss and Peeta return to District 12 and try to create their new lives at their nice new homes that the officials have provided for them. Katniss struggles with loving Peeta vs. Gale and continues trying to protect her family. Also her mom is able to take care of people who can't afford it and they struggle with keeping out of trouble with the law. Peeta and Katniss also discuss a lot about their wedding and begin to make arrangements. -

Katniss goes into the Mayors home and over hears the television. She walks in and watches a top secret message to the mayor and finds out that her acting in at the end of The Hunger Games has created a riot in all other districts. Also they find out that for the 75th annual they are making a male and female that are previous winners of the Hungergames, come back and fight against each other. -

Katniss teams up with people from other Districts besides Peeta and they try to make it so they all can survive. Along the way they realized that the dome is made like a clock, each hour something bad happens in a section. Also that the edge of the set up there is a force field that can protect them. -
FICTION: Chapters 20-26 pgs 280-391, 391
Katniss and Peeta found a metal rod and used it to short circuit the force field, causing it to break. They escape creating no official winner of the Hungergames which infurriates the officials. After they escape they find out that District 12 is destroyed and that District 14 does exist and it's flourishing with rebels.
