Clarence Darrow was an American lawyer, leading member of the American Civil Liberties Union. He was best known for defending teenage thrill killers Leopold and Loeb in their trial for murdering 14-year-old Robert "Bobby" Franks (1924). He is known as the best US criminal defense lawyer in American history.

Born on January 8, 1929. Garry Spense is a semi-retired American trial lawyer. He is a member of the American Trial Lawyers Hall of Fame. As of 2014 , Spence has never lost a criminal case either as a prosecutor or a defense attorney. He has not lost a civil case since 1969.
