  • Scientific principles lectures

    In 1826 Comte developed a social doctrine based on scientific principles. He started to present his ideas in a series of lectures but ended up having a nervous breakdown about one third of the way through.     From 1851-1854 Comte composed his second major work, "the Système de politique positive, 4 vol." (Britanica.com) This is translated to the system of positive polity.
