    Bob Fosse was born in Chicago, Illinois
  • Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios

    Signs contract with Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios in 1953 and he appeared in the musical comedy/drama ‘Give A Girl A Break’, ‘The Affairs of Dobie Gills’ and ‘Kiss Me Kate’ all of which appeared the same year. These performances helped him gain fame and the attention of broadway producers
  • "The Pajama Game"

    He choreographed his first musical, ‘The Pajama Game.’ Fosse's signature styles became apparent which was complex moves and imagery drawn from the vaudeville.
  • "Little Me"

    Releases a comical musical incorporating several jazz numbers .
  • Sweet Charity

    Choreographed and directed broadway musical, ‘Sweet Charity’, which also starred his wife Gwen Verdon.
  • Cabaret (movie version)

    The film was an American musical drama directed by Fosse, set in Berlin during the Weimar Republic in 1931, under the presence of the growing Nazi Party. Worked with Liza Manelli(daughter of judi garland) a famous performer. Won academy award for best director.

    Forever changed how dance was viewed on stage. Made dance provocative, sexual and entertaining. His choreography was able to convey a full range of human emotions on stage.
  • Death

    Fosse had a heart attack in Washington, D.C., outside of the Willard Hotel on September 23, 1987, and died before reaching the hospital. He will always be remembered as one of the greatest choreographers in broadway. His dance moves were physically uncomfortable yet were able to produce moves that looked very entertaining. Won 8 Tony awards.
