    Finally able to appreciate our freedom wasn't July 4th like everybody else. We were finally "free" from the white man on June 19th, 1865. All the slaves that was still under someones rule were finally free, after many years of fighting for their rights as equal citizens.

    Its was a segregation that AA was apart of standing u for their rights, & being treated unfairly. This movement (which they did win) by the achievement of getting what they wanted all along. It was based on the fact that America didn't follow the 14th amendment.

    A little girl had to walk all the way across railroads to school due to the fact she wasn't allowed to ride the bus. Because it was a whites only bus, and her parents decided to applied to the court.

    She may have not been the first to do it, but the first to have drawn attention to the situation. She felt that white people wasn't above her when it came to where it was to sit on the bus. Rosa Parks refused to give up her seat to a white woman, due to the fact that she had a hard day at work & didn't think it was acceptable for her to stand up.

    In the 1950's discrimination was a major deal. On August 28, 1955, a 14 year boy, Emmett Till was brutally lynched by 2 white men for being accused of flirting with a white woman. Only to find out in 2017 that she lied.

    This movement was to inspire AA & motivate them to fight injustice. They're the foundation what helped the freedom movement. Making it sure that you know what your rights are & the power that you hold within you.

    This speech spoke too many people. Not only AA American but it spoke to all men & woman around America about believing one day that our country would have the chance & opportunity to be free. Which we're now able to have with just the movement of words.
  • Malcolm X Assassination

    Malcolm X Assassination
    He was a prominent role in the Black Panther Party, but he was mostly known for his role in the Islamic pathway. His death was a shock to many, since he was a powerful voice among others. He brought in a lot of members to join his faith.
  • Black Panther Organization

    The Black panther organization was to help young black men and woman defend themselves against KKK & other white organizations. This did cause set back for other black men & woman who didn't believe that fighting back was a solution.
  • MLK murder

    Martin Luther King Jr. was an important role and activist during his time. Which is why his shocked and provoked many, since he was murder in broad daylight. His family including many others thought his death had to do with the U.S government.     This movement was a right of passage for AA to fight for their rights back in the 1960s. Always continuing to not be treated fairly, having to rightfully fight for their rights. Just because slavery ended discrimination didn't. Fighting for their rights in the South.

    This was a significant part of our history that was forever remembered & continued on. It is a day honoring our past leaders who's fought for us, and we continue to celebrate the ones who are still fighting for our right to this day.

    This boy death is what started the BLM movement back in the 2010s, due to the fact he died of police brutality. Which eventually began to be forgotten overtime.
  • Black Lives Matter protest

    Black Lives Matter protest
    A movement honoring and remembering all the deaths that didn’t get their justice. Going worldwide in 2020 after the death of George Floyd many AA and others was tired of the way police brutality is being handled. As the foundation doesn't have a good name for itself, and many people just used the movement as just a social platform. Still many of us still continue to be involved with getting police brutality underwraps and remembering those we have lost to it.
