William Golding's Biography

    William Golding was born in Cornwall England. William lived next to a graveyard in a 14th century house. His father was a school master and his mother was a Women's Activist.

    Golding worked as a teacher after college. Then he began to teach philosophy and English like his father at Bishop Wordworth School in Salsbury. Since he taught disorderly kids, he used his experiences to write the "Lord of the Flies."

    Golding spent 6 years in a boat while in the Royal Navy. He was a lieutenant in the Navy and also in charge of rocket launching during WWII.
