Samual Clemons, or better known as Mark Twain, was born in Florida. Missouri. Jane Clemons gave birth to Mark on November 30, 1835.

Mark was born into a family of 8. His father John Marshal Clemons, his mother, Jane Lampton Clemons, and his 6 sibilings, Pamela, Margret, Orion, Pleasant, Bejamin, and Henry. Mark Twain later got married to Olivia Langdon on Febuary 1870 in Elmira, New York and had their children, Langdon, Susy, Clara and Jean Clemons.

In 1839, Twains family moved to Hannibal, Missouri.

Mark Twains first known sketch appeared in the Hannibal Journal called A Gallent Fireman.

In 1853, Mark Twain got a job as a Printer in St. Louis, New York City, Philadelphia, etc.

In 1857 at age 22, Mark Twain got a job as a Steamboat pilot. He studied the Mississippi River for 2 years before recieving his licence in 1859. He continued his job until 1861, when the civil war broke out.
