    Sacagawea's Life

    After Sacagawea was captured, she was found by Lewis and Clark. She signed an agree meant to partiscipate in the expedition as a translator. After a year and a half after the expedition, she died not long after, leaving her son to be adopted by Clark. Sacagawea was a woman who followed the Lewis and Clark expedition when she was only 15 years old, they met new people and earned a great deal of money.

    After Sacagawea was captured, she was forced to marry Charbonneau, a fur trader. A couple of years later, Sacagawea found two men who were looking for a native translator called Lewis and Clark. The men offered Sacagawea a great deal of money, and she took the deal right away because of financial problems. After a year and a half, she was well known across America as "Bird Woman", the woman who helped America find land. Unfortunately, she died not long after.

    During the expedition, Sacagawea gave birth to her son Jean Baptise Charbonneau (also known as Pomp).

    On August 13, 1805 Lewis and Clark saw a Shoshone woman. They confronted her, and she brought them to her village. Sacagawea reunited with her brother (who was the chief of the tribe). However, they had to continue their journey.

    In December 20, 1812, Sacagawea was at the trading post with her husband, when she died of her putrid fever. She had just recently given birth to her daughter Lisette. She was only 25.

    To honor Sacagawea's bravery and intelligence, the US issued a dollar coin with Sacagawea and her baby on it. It was called the golden dollar and was worth $1.50.
