She placed the child in it and set it among the reeds by the bank of the Nile. Pharoah's daugther went down to bathe and saw the basket and had one of her servant girls get it. She then opened it and saw the child crying. She felt bad and took him as her son.

Then the Lord said to Moses," why are you crying out to me, Tell them to go forward as you lift up your staff and stretch out your hand over the sea and divide it.
