    The Battle of Dunkirk Was the second major battles of WW2. It took place in Dunkirk, France on 26 May – 4 June 1940. This battle consisted on and off land, with Britain, France, and Belgium trying to defeat the Germans for the defence and evacuation of British and allied forces in Europe. The end result of this battle was the allied Evacuation, Canada was not apart of the battle of Dunkirk and therefore had no role in this WW2 event.

    The battle of Britain was the fourth battles in WW2, and took place in the United Kingdom from July 10 - October 31 1940, This battle was Britain and Canada against the Germans and the Italians. This battle was mainly aerial warfare as airplane bombing was very effictive against the German Army. This battle gave Britain a necessary wartime success. Canada had a great aerial warfare unit and their role was using the RCAF. It was their 1st airforce victory

    The battle of D-Day was the final major battle of WW2. It happened in Juno Beach, France on June 6, 1944. This battle involved Canada, U.S, Britain and several other Western European countries against Germany. D-Dayls battle was fought on land and water, and14,000 young Canadians stormed the shores of Juno Beach from U-boats. This was a bloodbath, with the Allies loosing the most lives of any battle.D-Day was successful for the Allied Forces making them able to re-claim Juno from the Germans.

    This was the last major German offensive of the war. The Germans attacked a weak area of the allied lines. Their intention was to break through, split the American and British armies, capture Antwerp, Belgium thus cutting off the British from supplies and reinforcements. It was unsuccessful however, the allied lines held up.
  • Battle of Iwo Jima

    Three U.S. marine divisions landed on the island. We used the island to launch bombing raids on Japan. Iwo Jima was defended by roughly 23,000 Japanese army and navy troops. They fought from caves, dugouts, tunnels and underground installations. The marines wiped out the defending forces after a month of fighting.
