The battle of Lexington and Concord was the first battle that sparked in the Revolution that contained real military action. The British stormed the grounds intending to seize weapons from the colonist to prevent a rebellion but that's exactly what was caused. This was the final major battle of the American Revolution. Washington seized and marched on the British army in the city of Yorktown while French navy blocked the British reinforcements on the sea. Cornwallis surrendered his army and gave the Americans a great victory which led to the Treaty of Paris being put into place.
