Bartholomew was born in Grundisburgh, Suffolk, England. -
(In the late 1590's) He attended Cambridge University before getting married in Bury St. Edmunds. -
The Earl of Southampton paqyed for most of the expenses of the ship. Bartholomew named Cape Cod, and visited lots of New England, coming back home with plenty of goods. -
They sailed from England to Cape Henry. -
They started a new settlement. He was appointed a member of the resident council. He didn't really want to start a settle on Jamestown island, but the president of the council (Edward Wingfeild) did. -
Died in Jamestown, Virginia, because of an outbreak of Malaria.
