    Balboa snuck onto Martin Fernandez de Enciso's ship headed for Central America. It was under attack and they were on their way to send weapons and supplies. Fernandez was very angry at the illegal appearance of Balboa but then soon realized and was relieved with the help and relied on the forceful stowaway.

    Balboa was named the governor of the settlement of Santa Maria de la antigua. Indians had told him of another sea on the other side of Isthmus of Panama. Also, stories of gold and wealth. Knowing the recent governor was very weak, he took an expedition and soon took the head role of governor.

    He crossed the lands of Ponca and Careta and then finally arrived in Santa Maria on January 19, 1514. On this journey he gained treasures of cotton goods, and 100,000 castellanos worth of gold.

    Balboa gets the king to send 2,000 people to attack the incan empire. Trying to take it over and fight off the people and take over the land. This attack was lead by Francisco Pizarro. Also, at this time the Inca Empire was being attacked by diseases which gave them a better chance.

    Balboa was arrested and charged with treason and inciting a rebellion. He was put on trial in late 1513. Him and most of his trustworthy supporters were founded quilty. Even though he had a bunch of support they still put together quickly his punishment for treason against the King.

    The new Governor Pedro Aries De Avila was jealous of Balboa and had ordered for Balboa to be arrested on charges of treason. After a short trial, Balboa was then beheaded several years later after his arrest in Acla, near Darien, Panama.
