Balban played an important part in the overthrow of Sultan Alu ud din Masud. Installing Nasiruddin Mahmud as sultan and himself as vizier from 1246 to 1265

Balban was top vizier so other people became jealous of him. Imad ud din Raihan was also one of them so Imad ud din Raihan conviced Sultan that “ he is up to something so he is our enemy “ then Sultan convinced and dismissed Balban and his family. Balban then came to Sultan and told him that I’m not your enemy Imad ud din Raihan lied to you so finally Sultan got convicted and Imad ud din was dismissed from the court.
