Auguste created the law of three stages, human intellectual development had moved historically from a theological era in which everything natural was explained by a higher power (deities had the role). The metaphysical stage, was build up of the first stage where the higher power is replace with spirit that is guiding us. Positive state where laws govern us not outside beings. This where humans stop searching for the event, instead start discovering what causes the event.
