    Democritus

    Democritus
Democritus was a Greek philosopher. He started atomic theory and named it Atmos witch means atom.
  • John Dalton

    John Dalton
John Dalton was an English chemist. He is famous for many things including his work on color blindness. His theory on atomic theory was this: 1) Atoms of a given element are identical in size, mass, and other properties. 2) Atoms cannot be subdivided, created, or destroyed. 3) Atoms of different elements combine in simple whole-number ratios to form chemical compounds.
  • Sir William Crookes

    Sir William Crookes
Crookes was an English man who was experimenting on vacuum tubes. Using his Crooke's tube he discovered that atoms are negatively charged.
  • J.J Thomson

    J.J Thomson
Thomson took Crooke's tube and experimented on it. He called his new model the Plumb Pudding Model. In this way he discovered protons.
  • Rutherford

    Rutherford
Rutherford was an English scientist. With his gold foil experiment he discovered that electrons are outside of the atom.
  • Neils Bohr

    Neils Bohr
Bohr was a student of Rutherford. He made the Electron Cloud Model. Electrons, as a quantum mechanically-influenced model, we shouldn’t know exactly where they are, and hence describe their probable location around the nucleus only as an arbitrary cloud.
