    Aristotle (BC)

    Aristotle (BC)
Aristotle didn't believe in atoms could be constantly moving if they were in a void, he be believed was made of fire, air, water, & earth. He gathered scientific facts & used theories from observations & ideas. He didn't believe there were atoms only water, fire, air, & earth.
  • Dalton

    Dalton
He discovered the first model of what showed that matter was made up of, which were tiny little particles. He used his imagination on how he thought they looked. He thought they look lke tiny little balls combined to makine things.
  • Thomson

    Thomson
He discovered that electrons are in an atom. He discovered that electrons were smaller than atoms. He used what's known as the Plum Pudding Model. He pictured it as a blueberry muffin.
  • Rutherford

    Rutherford
He discovered that there was a nucleaus in an atom. As Thomson thought that throughout the atom, it was positive, but really it was concetrated in the center. He used thomson's theory & proved it wrong, that actually the positive charge was concentrated in the center. A positive charge that was in the center of the atom known as the Nuclea Model.
  • Bohr (BC)

    Bohr (BC)
He thought that electrons were actually distributed evenly, orbiting like a solar system. He used Rutherfords charge in the center as the necleus. It looked like planets orbiting around the necleus.
  • Heisenberg & Schrodinger

    Heisenberg & Schrodinger
They discovered that waves can be used to decribe electrons in atoms. The neutrons and protons are bunched up in the middle and floating motion of elctrons. They used the Quantum Mechanical method to make this discovery. They also discovered thta the floating motion of elcetrons rather than having them set on a path of travel.
  • democritus (BC)

    democritus (BC)
He discovered that everything was made of atoms. He said that atoms where uncuttable for this observionation he cut a peice of bread in half, also he thought that salt atoms had spikes on the beacause they tasted sharp.
