    James Meredith tries to register at University of Mississippi. Riots cause Kennedy to shoot them up. AKA he sent troops.

    President Kennidy is shot in the head in Dallas, Texas. Lyndon Baynes Johnson Replaces him.

  • King Bashes on War

    Dr. Martin Luther King condemns the Vietnam War saying that it forces the poor of America into paying a "Double Price"
  • Tet Offensive

    Tet is the Vietnamese New Year and the Vietcong chose this day to launch a massive assult that ended in a disaster for them. Americans were initially caught off guard but quickly repelled the attack while almost completely destroying the Vietcong.
  • Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr is assassinated

    A sniper kills Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. He was standing on the balcony of his hotel. That same night, he had said ".... I've looked over the mountaintop.... I've looked over and seen the Promised Land. I may not get there with you, but I want to know tonight that we as a people will get to the Promised Land."
  • Draft Burners

    In 1969 62% of all deaths in Vietnam were Draftees. Thus people at home would avoid the draft by burning their draft cards and going to jail or by fleeing to Canada. These people were called cowards but ended up living to see the end of the war.
  • Last US Troops Leave Vietnam

    The War ends and in 1975 Saigon falls to North Vietnam. But the US involvement had already ended.
