    Agricultural Adjustment Act (AAA)
    Main purpose was to help farmers by reducing production of staple crops to raise farm prices and to encourage more diverse farming.
    It's long'term goal was to raise crop prices for greater income.

    Federal Emergency Relief Act (FERA)
    This Acts' purpose was to provide relief for the needy. FERA had established the Federal Emergency Relief Administration. Was simply establsihed to provide people with basic needs for those affected by the Great Depression.

    The Glass-Steagall Banking Acts' purpose was to established the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC). This Act was made out to restore the trusting of banks.

    This Commission was established by the Securities and Exchange Act in 1934. Its purpose was to protect investors from dangerous or illegal financial practices or fraud by offering stocks and other deeds. SEC's significance is simply how it regulated the stock market and restricted margin buying.

    REA was created to promote rural electrification. In the 1930s, the U.S. were lagging behind Europes' success in providign electricity to rural areas. in 1934, less than 11% of U.S. farms had electricity. The Electrification Act established thia program.

    The Social Security Administration obtained a temporary budget from the Federal Emergency Relief Administration headed by Harry Hopkins. Later formed the Social Security Act, it provided pensions, unemployment insurance, and aid to blind, deaf, disabled, and dependent children.

    USHA was a federal agency created by the Housing Act of 1937 as part of the New Deal. It was designed to lend money to the states or communities for low-cost construction.
  • Fair Labor Standards Act

    Fair Labor Standards Act
    The FLSA is still used today, for it established minimum wage, and a limit on the number of hours which may be worked in a standard workweek. It also provides standards for equal pay, overtime pay, record keeping, and child labor.
