    Using the celluloid film developed by H.W. Goodwin, Edison was able to produce moving film pictures on the well. The film moved over a series of wheels to produce the pictures.

    McCay used cell animation and drew thousands of illustrations of his beloved dinosaur. McCay turned "Gertie" into the first successful character-based animated cartoons. Which gave him his title "The Father of American Cartoons."

    Looney Tunes was supposed to be a spin off on the silly symphonies produced by Disney. It took on a life of its own and became extremely popular.
