Anh Do was born in Vietnam in the south his family were very poor .

Anh and his extended family saved up money to escape Vietnam. They bought a boat through the black market and stealthily escaped their homeland by sea. On their way to Australia they encountered two sets of pirates which was terrifying, Eventually they were saved by a German boat that took them to safety.

Anh Do completed year 12 at St. Aloysius. HIs family made great sacrifices for him and his siblings to get a good education.

While at the University of Sydney Anh completed his law degree. He also studied painting which was his true passion

Anh started being a stand up comedian in his last year of uni thanks to his friend and mentor Dave.

Anh Do married Suzie Fletcher at age 22.

Anh's book The Happiest Refuge was published in 2010 by Allen and Unwinded. This book details his families struggles in Vietnam and the challenges they faced settling in Australia.

Anh's famous painting of his father was awarded runners up in the 2014 Archibald prize.

Anh's show called Brush with fame first aired in 2016. It is still on today on ABC. Anh Do interviews and paints celebrities including Jessica Maulboy.
