    He made a big impact during the Golden age of Athens by having the idea that the people get paid for working in the government (it happened). Also he was a very powerful and influential man in Athens.

    The Athenians were out numbered but still attacked, it was a success. The Persians lost more than 6,000 men, but the Athenians only lost 192 men.
  • The battle of Thermoplae

    The battle of Thermoplae

    The Persians had a army of more than 100,000 men and around 700 ships. Athens and Sparta had around 10,000 men and 300 ships. They held up for two days but then lost with the Persians victory.

    All we know about him is written by Plato, one of his students. His focus was on how should people behave. When a person asked him a question, he didn't answer but with a question. He got executed in 399 B.C.

    The Parthenon is a temple built for Athena the goddess of wisdom. The Parthenon is considered the greatest work by the Greeks. Parts of it stand today after around 2,500 years.

    He was one of Socrates student who wrote most of what we know about him today. He didn't believe in democracy because he thought it gave power to people that didn't know truth and justice.

    He was a student of Plato at Plato's school for twenty years. After that, he started his own school called the Lyceum. His influences were his father and Plato.
  • Alexander the Great

    Alexander the Great

    He was the son of King Philip ll of Macedonia. He never lost a battle, and he was one of the most brilliant leaders ever. He died with a fever at age 33.
