The French and Indian war was a battle between France and Britain for control over land in North America. This ended in 1763 with the Treaty of Paris and the win going to Britain. This made Britain the most powerful empire in North America.

The Sons of Liberty were a secret organization of American Colonists (founded in 1675) who organized protests and boycotts of British goods. They helped unite colonists against British taxes/laws. They most famously organized the Boston Tea Party to help push America towards a revolution.

The Act was a British law that was passed in 1765. This required people to buy a stamp for all paper goods because they were in debt after the French and Indian War and would help keep British soldiers in America. The Stamp Act was Vetoed in 1766 due boycotts and protests formed by The Sons of Liberty.

The Townshend Act of 1767 was a series of laws, taxing goods brought in such as Tea, paper, and glass. This money was used to pay British governors and judges to keep them loyal to Britain. This outraged colonists resulting in Boycotts, protests, the making of homemade goods, and The Boston Massacre. The lifted the act but continued to put a tax on teas.

The Boston Massacre occurred due to The Townshend Act. This resulted in five colonists killed and six colonists wounded. Colonists saw this as a sign the Britain was willing to kill innocent civilians to maintain control and that they no longer had a voice.

The Tea Act was passed in 1773 which let the British sell tea directly to colonies. So that night some members of the Sons of Liberty boarded British ships and dumped 342 chests of tea into the harbor. Britain the passed the Intolerable Acts in reaction to this which closed the Boston Harbor.

The Battles of Lexington Concord started the American Revolution. The British tried to take colonial weapons, but the military fought back and forced them to back down. This proved the colonists were ready to fight for independence.

The Battle of Bunker Hill took place on June 17, 1775. Military colonies heard the British were gonna take the hills around Boston. The British won with very little ammo but lost over 1,000 soldiers.

The Battle of Trenton took place on December 26, 1776 during the Revolutionary War. On Christmas night Washington crossed over the Delaware River on Christmas night to surprise the enemy. The Americans won capturing over 900 Hessians.

The Articles of Confederation was the first American Government created on December 15, 1777 during the Revolutionary War. This made the national government weak and gave them little to no power to tax or enforce laws. They were then replaced by the Constitution in 1789.

Battle of Camden was fought between the British Army and American Army. The British were well prepared for the battle but the Americans were not so they fled almost immediately. The British won the battle and Gates was replaced by Nathanael Green for leadership over the American Army.

The Battle of Yorktown was the final major battle of the American Revolution, that happened in Yorktown, Virginia. Washington and the French trapped the British army forcing Cornwallis to surrender. This led to the British giving up and led to the Treaty of Paris.

The Constitutional Convention took place in Philadelphia in 1787. They conversed about things like the governments, states, and slaves leading to the Great Compromise, and the Three-Fifths Compromise. this created the Constitution we still use today.

The Great Compromise took place on July 16, 1787. This compromise created a two-house congress: The house of representatives, and senate which determines how the states would be represented in congress. this created a balancing power between large and smaller states giving everyone a fair and equal representation.

The Bill of Rights was adopted in 1791 to protect individuals freedoms to help limit to governments power. This added the first 10 amendments to the Constitution. This was added because the states were worried the Constitution didn't protect individual rights.
