    French and Indian War
    The French and Indian war is from 1754-1763. French and Indian War was a conflict with Great Britain and North America and it ended with the Treaty of Paris, Great Britain gained a lot of land from it also. The French and Indian war happened because they wanted to have more land. This caused tension because they both wanted the land.
  • Writ of Assistance

    Writ of Assistance was in 1761. It was a warrant that allowed them to search any colonial ships. It happened because there was many things being smuggled in. This creates tension between the British and the colonial because they are constantly being taxed and searched so they will not be able to smuggle anything in

    The Treaty of Paris was in 1763, The Treaty of Paris was the treaty that ended the French and Indian war. The Treaty of Paris ended the war so it created some peace but there might be tension because the colonies will end up having to pay for it

    The Proclamation was in 1763. It was a line that the colonist was not allowed to cross. It was to avoid conflict with the Native Americans. It caused tension because they were eager to expand and ignored the proclamation.

The Sugar Act was illegal trade, it also established Navigation Act, The third one and the last one is about the French and Indian war being so expensive so the people had to pay for there protection. The Colonists complained because it would reduce there profits. This creates tension because the colonies would not be making as much money and everyone wants money.

    The Stamp Act was in 1765. It was to ensure that the taxes were being paid, there would be a stamp on the item that proved that it was taxed. The colonists were not happy and ended up boycotting British good until the Stamp Act was repealed. The Stamp Act was in play because of the people not paying taxes. This created tension between Britain and the colonies because they were always paying taxes.

    The Sons of Liberty was formed in 1765 and led by a man named Samuel Adams who was one of the founders of the Sons of Liberty. It was colonists united to defy the law. It happened because of the Stamp Act. This created tension because they boycotted the British.

    The Declaratory Act was in 1766. The Declaratory Act was a way to repeal the stamp act. It happened because the stamp act was taxing the colonies. This created tension because the British would start making less money without the taxes.

    The Boston Massacre was in 1770. It was the killing of 5 people who were standing outside of the Boston Customs House and taunting the British soldiers causing them to kill 5 men. It happened because there was a mob taunting British soldiers causing them to fire.

    The Tea act was in 1773. It was an act passed by the parliament it made it so it was free of tax to sell tea to the colonies. This happened because the colonist did not did not want to pay taxes. This creates tension because they had to pay extra.

    The Boston Tea Party was in 1773. The Boston Tea party was when the Indians dumped 18,000 pounds of tea into the waters of Boston. It happened because of the Tea Act. This caused tension because there was a lot of money and tea thrown into the harbor of Boston

    The Intolerable Acts was in 1774. One of the laws shut down Boston Harbor, the Quartering Act allowed British commanders to house soldiers in vacant private homes and other buildings. Last one is martial law to keep peace. This happened because it was supposed to create peace. This caused tension because it didn't benefit the colonist

    The First Continental Congress Meets is in 1774. It is the meeting of 56 delegates meeting in Philadelphia. this made them closer to war because there was resistance.

    It was in 1775. It was a group of colonial trained to be ready in minutes. This brings them closer to war because they are being prepared for it and have plans already.

    The second Continental Congress was in 1775. It was a convention of delegates from the 13 colonies that formed in Philadelphia. They tried to petition to avoid war with Britain but it was rejected.

    It was in 1775. The Olive Branch Petition was a final attempt by the colonist to avoid going to war with Britain during the American Revolution. It was supposed to prevent conflict between colonies and British government but it ended up starting a war
