160,000 allied troops landed along the french coastline to fight Nazi Germany on the beaches of Normandy. More than 5,000 ships and 13,000 aircrafys helped the invassion. By the end of the day allies gained a stance in Normandy. On d day moe than 9,000 allied soldiers were killed or wounded but more than 100,000 soldiers began across Europe to defeat Hitler. -

D day and further landings were hard on the Germans in France. Aug 19th paris staged an uprising and hitler demanded the german govener to burn the city. Instead he called a truce after the US reached in frace and the french were free from germany after 4 years. -
