    Albert Einstein was born on March 14th, 1879 in Ulm, Germany, Einstein was the child of Hermann Einstein and Pauline Koch. Albert Einstein was the eldest child out of the two that his parents had. His sister was Maja Einstein.

    Japan invades Liqiu Islands
    Japan invaded the kingdom of Liuqiu Islands, formerly a vassal of China. The Ruykyuan monarchy was abolished and the islands were annexed to create the Okinawa Prefecture. Prior to this Okinawa had paid tribute to both Japan and China. Okinawa became imperial Japan’s first colony.

    Einstein entered his first self education program at ten years old and starts reading as much about science as he can. Einstein stayed in Munich to finish the school year while his family moved to Pavia, Italy. This only lasted a term before Einstein followed them to Italy.

    Einstein graduates from high school at age 17 and enrolls at the ETH (the Federal Polyethnic School) in Zurich. Einstein falls in love with a Serbian classmate at ETH named Meliva Maric. Two years later in 1900 Einstein graduates from ETH.

    Einstein becomes a Swiss citizen and unemployed while searching for work. Albert Einstein meets Maric in northern Italy for a tryst, and she becomes pregnant. In the fall, Einstein finds work in Schaffhausen, Switzerland as a tutor. Maric, then becomes visibly pregnant so she moves to Stein am Rhein, three miles upriver. She then returns to her parents' home to give birth to her child. Einstein moves to Bern.

    On December 17, 1903, Wilbur and Orville Wright made four brief flights at Kitty Hawk with their first powered aircraft. The Wright brothers had invented the first successful airplane.

    Groundbreaking Ideas
    At age 26,Albert Einstein makes five groundbreaking papers. With these five paper they make this his "annus mirabilis," or miracle year. One of the papers introduces his special theory of relativity and another E = mc2.

    The Mexican Revolution was a long and bloody struggle among several factions in constantly shifting alliances. This resulted ultimately in the end of the 30-year dictatorship in Mexico. The establishment of a constitutional republic was created in Mexico.

    Einstein moves with his family to Prague, where he is given a full professorship at the German University there. Einstein attends the invitation-only Solvay Conference in Brussels, the first world physics conference. He is the youngest physicist there.

    Directer of Kaiser Wilhelm Institute
    Einstein becomes the director of the Kaiser Wilhelm Institute in Berlin and professor of theoretical physics at the University of Berlin. Mileva Maric and the children move there in April, but they return to Zurich after three months. A divorce between Albert Einstein and Mileva Maric proceeds to begin. In August, World War I begins.

    In mid-august the outbreak of WWI had began, which put Germany, Austria-Hungary and the Ottoman Empire against Great Britain, France, Russia, Italy and Japan.The Allies were joined after 1917 by the United States. The four years of the Great War saw unprecedented levels of carnage and destruction, thanks to grueling trench warfare and the introduction of modern weaponry. By the time World War I ended, more than 9 million soldiers had been killed and 21 million more wounded.

    Completes General Theory of Relativity
    In 1915 Albert einstein put forth his General Theory of Relativity. The theory determined that massive objects cause a distortion in space-time which is felt as gravity.
  • Russian Revolution

    Russian Revolution
    In 1917, two revolutions happened in Russia. These revolutions ended centuries of imperial rule and setting in motion political and social changes that would lead to the formation of the Soviet Union. In March, growing civil unrest, coupled with chronic food shortages, erupted into open revolt, forcing the abdication of Nicholas II. Just months later, the newly installed provisional government was overthrown by the more radical Bolsheviks, led by Vladimir Lenin.

    Albert Einstein was awarded with winning the 1921 Nobel Prize. He was awarded this prize for his services to Theoretical Physics. This award was especially awarded to him for his discovery of the law, the Photoelectric Effect.

    World War II involved more than 30 countries and resulting in more than 50 million military and civilian deaths. Started by Adolf Hitler’s invasion of Poland in 1939, the war would continue for six deadly years until the final Allied defeat of both Nazi Germany and Japan in 1945.

    Albert Einstein died on April 18th, 1955. Einstein died in Princeton, New Jersey. He had died because of heart failure.
