    In 2004 on February 16, a double suicide attack occurred on the offices of Kurdish political parties in Irbil, Iraq, and north of Baghdad. Hundreds of people gathered to celebrate the Eid Al-Adha in Irbil. The attackers strapped the bombs to their bodies and successfully killed the deputy governor of Irbil province, the city's police chief and the former government minister.

As many people were leaving after their Friday prayers three bombs went off in different parts of the area. 85 people were killed and 160 were injured. Al-Qaida planned to assassinate Sheikh Jalaluddin al-Saghir, a member of the Iraqi parliament but he was unharmed in the attack.

    In 2007 on February 3rd, Al-Qaida accomplished a truck suicide bombing attack in the city Baghdad at a busy market. The bomb was estimated to be about one ton in weight. It brought down at least ten buildings and coffee shops and killed at least 135 and injured 339 people.

    In 2007 on March 27, two suicide truck bombings took place in Tal Afar, Iraq. The bombings killed 152 people and injured more than 347 people. On the same day Al-Qaida a reprisal act happened in al-Wahada, just after the bombings. Gunman shot and killed about 70 people.

The bombs targeted the Ministry of Justice and the Baghdad Provincial Council building. 35 employees of the Ministry of Justice and at least 25 staff members of the Baghdad Provincial Council were killed in the suicide bombings. A total of 155 deaths and more than 721people injured at that terrorist attack.
